3 simple ways to bring more Connection, Renewal & Fun to your workplace.
Change the Energy at Work (hint;) It Starts With You
CONNECTION
The 60-Second Energy Check-In
How to use it right away
Try this at the start of your next meeting, when you run into a colleague in the lunchroom, or before beginning a conversation in someone’s office. Instead of leading straight into work, take a moment to check in first.
It only takes about 60 seconds, but this small pause can shift the tone of the interaction, helping people feel seen, relaxed, and more open to the conversation that follows.
You can also use this with your team before diving into agendas, problem-solving, or decision-making.
A quick human connection often makes a meeting more productive.
And remember — a smile goes a long way. Smile with your eyes… or with your lips if you can make it not look weird. lol
Try this
Invite everyone to answer one simple question:
• What’s one word that describes your energy today?
• What’s something small that would make today a great day at work?
• What’s one thing you're looking forward to this week?
Why it works
When people feel acknowledged, they naturally become more engaged. A brief check-in helps shift attention away from stress or rushing and brings people into the present moment together.
This small act of connection can:
• Create a more positive tone in meetings
• Strengthen trust between colleagues
• Increase openness and collaboration
• Remind people they are valued, not just their output
Sometimes the most powerful leadership tools are the simplest ones.

RENEWAL
The 2-Minute Reset
How to use it right away
In the middle of a busy day, it’s easy to keep pushing forward even when your energy is low. Renewal is about taking a brief pause to reconnect with yourself and reset your energy.
This can be done between meetings, during a short break, before an important conversation, or anytime you feel overwhelmed or mentally tired.
Even two minutes can help you return feeling clearer, calmer, and more present.
Try this
Choose one simple way to reset your energy:
• Take five slow, deep breaths and let your shoulders soften.
• Close your eyes for a few minutes and try the Light Within meditation below (sorry, not sorry, it's 5 minutes)
• Listen to a calming piece of music.
• Step outside and notice the sky, the trees, or the air around you.
• Go for a short walk or do a few gentle stretches.
Why it works
When we pause and reconnect with our breath, body, or surroundings, our nervous system begins to settle. This helps reduce stress, restore focus, and bring us back into the present moment.
Renewal isn’t about doing more — it’s about allowing yourself a moment to reset so you can return with greater clarity, creativity, and energy.
Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is pause. Remember, A Man In Pause is Powerful :)

FUN
The 5-Minute Fun Spark
How to use it right away
Work doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. A small moment of fun can lift a team's energy and make the day more enjoyable for everyone.
Fun doesn’t need to be complicated or take a lot of time. It can be something simple that invites people to smile, share, or connect in a lighthearted way.
Try adding a small spark of fun during the day — in a meeting, in the lunchroom, or during a break. When people laugh or share something joyful together, it creates a sense of connection and reminds everyone that work can be enjoyable, too.
Try this
Here are a few easy ways to bring a little fun into the day:
• Share a joke or a funny story with your team.
• Create a “music moment” — from 12:00–12:15pm invite people to play their favourite song in the lunch room
• Put a question of the day on a whiteboard in the lunchroom.
• Invite the team to share something that made them smile this week.
• Bring a quick game or light activity into a meeting.
Even a few minutes of shared fun can shift the atmosphere of a workplace.
Why it works
Fun helps people relax, feel more connected, and enjoy being part of the team. When people laugh together, it reduces stress and builds trust.
Teams that share moments of joy often communicate more openly, collaborate more easily, and bring more creativity to their work.
Sometimes the smallest sparks of fun create the biggest shifts in workplace culture.

These small actions may seem simple, but they have a real impact on how people feel, how teams interact, and how work gets done.
Try one small action each day and see what happens.
Because you matter.
How you show up matters.
And who you are matters most.
Your shine is on the line. ✨
