Brené Brown mentions, “Clear is kind" and the phrase stuck with me because often times as entrepreneurs we wear so many hats and can offer a variety of services. It’s easy to get lost in trying to explain everything we can do, but for our clients or customers, it can feel overwhelming. They don’t need to know it all—they just need a clear entry point into the incredible work you do.
It can get tricky because there usually is a handful of ways people can engage with our talents. Each client’s journey might look different because their needs are different. For example, in my work, some clients aren’t ready for video yet because their message isn’t fully fleshed out. So I need to start by honing that clarity, while others are crystal clear and just need guidance on sharing their message. Then, there are those who are ready to dive straight into creating videos that showcase their mission and purpose with confidence! So, how do we communicate this without overwhelming people? It starts with clarity. For instance, instead of saying, “I’m in video production” (a habit I’m actively breaking), I now say: “I help entrepreneurs on a mission to authentically share who they are through video, marketing and live events.” This shift reflects not just what I do, but why I do it. My core belief, rooted in my love for spiritual and personal development, is that everyone deserves to feel confident and free to express their authentic selves. The world thrives on flavour and diversity, and I want to help people share their unique spark in a way that feels good to them. Clarity isn’t about fitting into a box—it’s about being so true to who you are that the right people can’t help but be drawn to you. When your message is clear, it filters out those who aren’t aligned with you, saving you time and energy. You don’t need to morph yourself to fit others’ expectations. The ones who are meant to hear your message will hear it just by you being clear! So, here’s some questions to answer: * If you were to list everything you do, what’s the why behind it all? * What’s the common thread that runs through your work? * How can you distill your message into something clear, joyful, and energizing to share? It’s not about listing every detail of how you do what you do—the how can change. What matters is the what and the why. When you’ve nailed this, you’ll be speaking directly to those who resonate with your message. And if you need help refining it, check out my book or my Ignite Your Light course—it’s designed to help you find and confidently share your authentic message. The world needs your brilliance. The clearer you are, the kinder you’re being—to yourself and to those who need you most. What’s your clear and kind message? Share it below—I’d love to hear it! 🌟
